After a three-day visit in Ivory Coast, Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko arrived in Guinea at 5 p.m.

The head of government, welcomed by his counterpart Amadou Oury Bah, begins a forty-eight-hour working visit to the Republic of Guinea, from June 1 to 2, 2025. This trip is part of a regional tour aimed at strengthening sub-regional cooperation and strengthening the historical ties between the Senegalese and Guinean peoples.

The Prime Minister is expected at 3 p.m. this Sunday, June 1, at Ahmed Sékou Touré International Airport in Conakry, where he will be welcomed by Guinean authorities. After settling into the Noom Hotel, Ousmane Sonko will meet with the Senegalese community living in Guinea, during an exchange scheduled between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

True to his desire to maintain constant dialogue with the diaspora, this sequence will be followed by an official dinner in his honor, offered by the Guinean authorities at the same hotel.

Monday, June 2, will be devoted to diplomatic exchanges and strengthening bilateral cooperation. Starting at 10 a.m., Ousmane Sonko will meet with his Guinean counterpart, Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah, for a one-on-one meeting at the Palais de la Colombe in Kaloum. This meeting will be followed by a working session extended to delegations from both governments.

A joint press statement is planned following the discussions to take stock of the commitments made and the prospects for cooperation.

The diplomatic highlight of this visit will undoubtedly be the audience with the President of the Republic of Guinea, General Mamadi Doumbouya, scheduled at the Mohamed V Palace.

Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko will leave Conakry on Monday, June 2 at 5 p.m., for Sierra Leone, the final leg of his week-long West African tour.
