HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- Six states including Kentucky and Indiana are suing the Biden administration’s new Title IX rules. The suit led by Kentucky Attorney General, Russell Coleman was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

The highlight of the new rules prohibits schools from banning transgender students and teachers from using restrooms that align with their gender identities. Coleman says that the new rules would “Rip away 50 years of Title IX protections for women and put entire generations of young girls at risk.”

Title IX was first established in 1972 in order to prohibit sex-based discrimination in any school or other education program that received federal funding.
